Mind's Eye Chapter 36
Russell woke up on the floor, with Loki curled up on his chest, and tipped his head back to see Hypno lying on his bed. She was sprawled out on her back, both front legs up in the air. Rubbing his eyes, Russell tried to search her mind, but stopped immediately when he felt pressure in his head. I’m not actually asleep. Hypno opened one yellow eye and showed her fangs in a grin. You'll have to do better than that to read my mind. “Why am I on the floor?” Russell muttered, rubbing his neck as he sat up. Loki jumped clear and began washing his face. I moved you during the night. Hypno sat up proudly. The bed you got me is nice, but yours is better. “Should I sleep in your bed then?” Russell asked sourly. No, that’s mine. Hypno’s tail began wagging. Why do you think I put you on the floor? You can use my bed. Russell stared at Loki, who stretched and yawned. “Was that you?” Russell asked, startled, and Loki nodded. Yeah! “Thanks, bud,” Russell said with a grin, scratching Loki
