The Call

Lucky is a good boy. I would take him with me on more walks if I didn't walk so close to the road. Besides, today I got chased and nipped at by some neighbor dogs, so it was good that he didn't come.

I was pretty nervous when the two dogs chased me, even though one was tiny and the other was a medium-sized dog. They were barking, growling and had their hackles up. I was sure I was going to get seriously bitten. But I tried to ignore them. I kept walking because I knew they were chasing because I was in their territory. I researched a bit and it seems that if you're chased by dogs, you're supposed to stand still and not make eye contact, but not turn your back. But I got out of the situation alright this time. Eventually the dogs left me alone. I think they were new dogs and so we hadn't seen each other before. I guess they'd get used to me if I walked by the road more, but I don't want to press my luck.
